1. Welcome
Congratulations on getting your Auricles. We hope you will enjoying using them as much as we did developing them.
2. Overview of the auricles

3. Wearing the Auricles

Grasp each Auricle with your index finger and thumb, pressing the clamp with your thumb.

Start by selecting a pair of tips and mounting them on the clamp. If needed, choose a different tip size that fits you better. The medium size is typically a good starting point for most users.

Clip the Auricles onto your tragus, sliding them as far forward as possible while still ensuring comfort.
The Auricles should rest against your cheek, as shown in the picture.
4. Charging the Auricles

The Auricles offer up to 7 hours of playtime at regular volume levels, and approximately 5 hours at maximum volume.
To charge, open the cover of the USB port on your headphones and connect the provided USB cable to a power supply or certified wall charger.
The battery requires approximately 2 hours to fully charge.

7. Frequently Asked Questions
Is cartilage conduction safe?
Auricles’ transducers convert sound into vibrations. These vibrations travel through your cheekbones and skull. However, regardless of the conduction path, the sound ultimately reaches the inner ear—which is primarily where hearing damage can occur. So, rather than focusing on the means of conduction, you should pay attention to the volume level and the amount of time you spend listening to music (just as you would with any other headphones).
Will clipping them to my tragus and wearing them for a long time hurt?
Despite appearances and our natural assumption that pinching or clipping something onto the tragus might be painful, this is absolutely not the case with the Auricles. In addition to testing their comfort ourselves by wearing them for several hours, we have also convinced many others to try the Auricles—and they found them to be extremely lightweight and not painful at all.
Do the Auricles have Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)?
No, the Auricles do not provide Active Noise Cancellation. Because these headphones are designed to keep the ear canal open, they do not block surrounding noise unless you use the provided earplugs. These earplugs can be attached to the clamp to block your ear canals. The main purpose of open-ear headphones is to keep you aware of your environment.
Are they wireless?
Yes, the Auricles are wireless headphones that connect via Bluetooth.
Are they waterproof?
They are be splashproof, weather-resistant, and sweat-resistant. However, they are not designed for showering or swimming—at least not yet ; )
Will they work with my Android/iPhone?
Yes, the Auricles are compatible with any electronics device that supports Bluetooth 5.0 and above.
How long does the battery last?
We played music at maximum volume for 5 hours straight. With regular use, the battery lasts more than 7 hours.
Can anyone else hear what I’m listening to?
We designed the Auricles to reduce flanking transmissions across adjacent plastic components, minimizing sound leakage and providing a more private listening experience. However, at high volumes, some sound leakage may still be noticeable, especially in very quiet environments.
Can I use them if I have hearing loss?
Auricle uses cartilage-conduction technology, which is similar to the technology found in bone conduction and bone-anchored hearing aids. With cartilage conduction, sound is transmitted to your inner ear through the cartilage surrounding your hearing system. This means that if your cochlea is healthy and intact, you can hear the Auricles even if you have a damaged ear canal, eardrum, or middle ear bones.
What’s the difference between the Auricles and already existing bone conduction headphones?
First and foremost, it’s the unrivaled sound quality. Additionally, with a completely new approach to open-ear design, the Auricles offer a better fit, greater comfort, and versatility for different lifestyle needs—not just for sports.
